Exodus Mandate advocates, “yes, absolutely”– and provides a wealth of resources to help parents exit “Pharaoh’s school system.”
Its founder Chaplain E. Ray Moore, author of Let My Children Go, explains, “every church is a school and every parent is a teacher.” He adds:
There is no reason Christian parents should send their precious children to a pagan, atheistic, hostile public school – it would be like sending sheep to the slaughter. Scripture commands families to provide Christian education, not a secular or godless education.”
A project of Frontline Ministries focusing on prayer, revival and Christian education, Exodus Ministries has produced two films warning Christians about the public school system’s subversive attempts to “socially engineer children” and “eradicate the Christian faith from American life.”
In the first film, IndoctriNation: Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America numerous educators evidence serious problems, most of which Samuel Blumenthal identifies are rooted in the reality that, “public schools have become a criminal enterprise.”
In Escaping Common Core: Setting Our Children Free (Volume 1), Moore argues the public school system is a socialistic model that cannot be fixed and children should be raised according to the teachings of the Bible. Parents must first and foremost provide their children with effective spiritual instruction and be involved in every aspect of their children’s education– within the context of the local church.
It’s ministry materials state:
The local church has a responsibility to support and assist member families in providing Christian training for their children. Once the church accepts this responsibility, the question often arises, ‘What do we do?’”
Moore points to German Protestant Reformer Martin Luther’s admonition to parents, who wrote:
There is nothing which will more surely earn hell for a man than the improper training of his children; and parents can perform no more damaging bit of work than to neglect their offspring…it is highly necessary that every person regard the soul of his child with greater concern than the flesh which has come from him, that he consider the child nothing less than a precious, eternal treasure, entrusted to his protection by God so that the devil, the world, and the flesh do not steal and destroy it.

Syndicated columnist Cal Thomas says of the film, “Every Christian parent with a child in a government school should see this… A mass exodus from government schools is the only way to preserve the souls and minds of our children, whether it gets the attention of politicians or not…and it would.”

Exodus Ministries provides resources for homeschooling, private Christian education, and parental guides and resources. In The Case for Separation it highlights resources from the Alliance for the Separation of School and State, arguing that for hundreds of years “people managed their education without the aid of government and without force.”
They argue that because of centuries of parental independence from the government, parents were able to foster the qualities of liberty and freedom outlined in the Constitution among their children and other students. They were able to encourage creativity and ingenuity among students within an environment that enabled joyful learning, merit, and discovery– all non-existent in the public school system.
The ultimate question they ask, is:
Do Christian parents want to be independent from the state: Do they want to take back their children, even if it means more effort and more responsibility–even if it means spending their own money to educate them?”
The answer to their question may become clearer quite soon, considering the ongoing and escalating conflict among parents and state and federal government bureaucrats over the numerous failings and violations of pubic school education and Common Core.
